Hello My Beauty,
To me, we are all creative, some of us just have that pull to do a deep dive into what creativity looks like, feels like, how to express it in form… than others. I’m parsing out my creative process looking at the different aspects, the thoughts and imaginings and the doing of the thing that is calling me to put pen to paper, hot pink pastel chalk to paper, to gently set my fingers over the key board and channel letters that in a certain kind of order make words that combine to make sentences and then paragraphs and then stories….
I’ve come to realize in the most profound way, that LIFE ~ my life and your life ~ IS a creative process. And that as the author of our own stories we have not only the responsibility to take ourselves seriously, but to have fun in the doing of it, in the doing of living and breathing and loving and laughing and crying and making our way through this beautiful, sometimes hairy, sometimes Dark and wickedly funny, and always full of Light, life.
I’ve said before that it’s up to me to create the kind of life I want to live ~ one where I’m thriving in joy and love and seeing with my heart and with my eyes all the beauty this world has to offer while at the same time, being aware that STUFF happens, that CHANGE happens, that LIFE happens.
But so do I… so do YOU.
And we actually do have a say in the kind of life we lead. Over the years, and especially over these last couple, it’s become more and more apparent and relevant and vital that living a creative life is my process, is my calling, is my purpose all the while learning to love myself, and those I hold dear, ever more deeply and ever more holy.
And that includes you, My Beauty.
Thank you. And… I’m curious what living a creative life means to you?
Don’t think you live a creative life?
You are creativity incarnate, the Universe in form. Not only are you made of the stuff of stars, you’re a walking, talking, laughing, loving, making, doing, being creature that gets to think your life and feel your life and live your life into reality. If that’s not creative, I don’t know what else is.
Thinking of your life as being creative opens all kinds of doors, throws the windows wide, and makes space to BE who and what and how you want to BE.
Don’t like the way things are going? Shift that one degree and the whole world changes. Aren’t comfortable in your body? Try sleeping more and moving more and drinking more water… all WILL make you feel better. Want more color in your life? Pick up some crayons and color, go outside and collect wild flowers, buy a T-shirt in some bright shade that makes you smile.
The point being, YOU have the wherewithal to make change in your life and isn’t that a huge part of creativity? And if this last year and a half has taught us anything, it’s that CHANGE HAPPENS.
All. The. Time.
BUT SO DO WE. So, the question then becomes, if I’m the one living a creative life ~ if you are the one living a creative life ~ and if change is going to happen anyway, why not have as much fun creating the kind of life where I/You/We thrive while having fun with the process?
Sounds like a fabulous creative endeavor!
